Lesson Twelve: The Weather
daa-yeig (DAA-yegg) - 12
emshyr (EMM-sher) - weather
yn emshyr (in-EMM-sher) - the weather
çheh (chay) - hot
feayr (foor) - cold
çhirrym (CHIRR-um) - dry
fliugh (fl'yukh) - wet
kiune (k'yoon) - calm
geayeeagh (GAY-ee-akh) - windy
emshyr vie (EMM-sher-VY) - good weather
Note that we say 'Moghrey mie' but 'Emshyr vie': 'moghrey' is a masculine word while 'emshyr' is feminine. The 'm' in 'mie (good) changes to 'v' after feminine words. 'Oie vie' ('Goodnight') is another example of this. Whenever we talk of 'emshyr' or 'oie', we should use 'she'. 'Moghrey' is 'he'.
bee (bee) - will be, there will be
cha bee (ha-BEE) - will not be, there will not be
bee eh (BEE-a) - it will be
ayn (awn) - in (In the sense of 'in existence')
mairagh (MAA-rakh) - tomorrow
jiu (joo) - today
she (shay) - it is (Used to express agreement)
ceau (k'yow) - throwing (Rhymes with 'how')
fliaghey (fl'ya) - rain
ceau fliaghey (k'yow-FL'YA) - raining ('throwing rain')
