Lessoon Keead as Jees: Ceau Magh Ad?
Lesson One Hundred and Two: Throw Them Out?
ceau (kyow) sounds like how - throw! throwing
magh (makh) - out
ad (add) - they; them
Remember that the two most important parts of a Manx verb are the imperative (for giving orders, like throw!) and the verbal noun (these all end in -ing in English, like throwing). Ceau is an example of a verb where the imperative and the verbal noun are the same.
For Throw them out, we could say Ceau ad magh, with the same word order as in English. Ceau magh ad is the more Gaelic order.
