reddyn (RITH-un) - things
cheet (chitt) - coming
In Manx, ‘becoming’ is expressed as ‘coming to be’:
‘Ta reddyn cheet dy ve’ (ta-RITH-un-CHITT-the-VAY) - ‘Things are becoming’ (‘Things are coming to be’).
‘...dy vel oo cheet dy ve’ (the-VELL-oo-CHITT-the-VAY) - ‘..that you are becoming’ (‘that you are coming to be’).

druggaghyn (DRUGG-akh-un) - drugs
dunverys (DUNN-verr-iss) - murder
ny shenn laghyn (na-SHAN-LAA-un) - the old days
ny smessey (na-SMETH-a) - worse
cho olk as (ho-ULK-azz) - as bad as
sleih ennagh (SLY-enn-YAKH) - some people
yindyssagh (YIND-iss-akh) - wonderful
Er-lhiam dy row eh ny share na t’eh nish (err-L’YAMM-the-ROW-a-na-SHARE-na-tay-NISH) - I think that it was better than it is now.
ny smoo boght na (na-smoo-BAWKH) - poorer than
v’ad maynrey (vadd-MAAN-ra) -they were happy
foddee dy row (FUTH-ee-the-ROW) - perhaps (they) were
t’ou smooinaghtyn (tow-SMUNN-yakht-in) - you think
myr shen (mar-SHEN) - like that
ny shinney (na-SHIN-ya) - older

Remember how to compare things. With many adjectives you can just put ‘(ny) smoo’ (‘more’, ‘most’) in front of them - see ‘ny smoo boght na’ above. A group of common adjectives have special forms in the comparative-superlative, e.g., ‘shenn’-‘old’, ‘shinney’ - ‘older’,‘oldest’.
