We already know how to use

to say 'would' in English, for example we can say.

Yinnin goll dys scoill dy jinnagh oo goll - I would go to school if you would go.

As usual in Manx there is an alternative (better) way of doing this by changing the endings of regular verbs and dreaming up exciting alternative versions of irregular ones.

goll - raghin / ragh raghin / ragh
gra - yiarrin / yiarragh jirrin / jirragh
jannoo - yinnin / yinnagh jinnin / jinnagh
fakin - heein / heeagh vaikin / vaikagh
clashtyn - cluinin / cluinagh chluinin / chluinagh
cur - verrin / verragh derrin / derragh
goaill - ghoin / ghoghe goin / goghe
geddyn - yioin / yiogh voin / voghe
ta - veign / veagh beign / beagh

The - in

ending always applies to the first person singular (me, I) and the -

agh

ending applies to everybody else including (us - shin).

Similarly for regular verbs the rule is find the root as normal, add -

in

or -

agh

as appropriate and you have the conditional tense. For the question or negative mutate it (as in the future tense).

Remember that when linking two parts of a conditional sentence together where in English you would use
