Orders (Imperative)
Here are the ways to make our favourite irregular verbs into orders. They are used
quite frequently in conversation and so are worth learning.
Tar - Come Immee - Go Abbyr - Say
Jean - Do Jeeagh - See, Look Clasht - Hear
Cur - Put,Send Gow - Take Fow - Get, Find
Bee - Be
To make a negative order put 'ny' or before a vowel 'nagh' before the order form of
the verb, and when ordering more than one person follow the verb with 'jee' e.g.
Gow my leshtal Excuse me (take my excuse)
Immee ersooy Go away
Tar er ash Come back
Abbyr shen Say that
N'abbyr shen Don't say that
Ny jean shen Don't do that
Jeeagh er shen Look at (on) that
Fow magh Find out
Bee jee ayns shoh Be here (to several people)
For most other verbs the imperative is simply the root of the verb which we know from
the past tense, but in this case with no mutation. e.g.
Trogg - build
Jeigh - shut
Beagh - live
Roie - run
Faag - leave
Cloie - play
Drapp - climb
Eeastee - fish
Obbree - work
Kionnee - buy
Alternatively you can make the order form of the verb by preceding it with the order
form of the verb to do
jean
to one person and
jean-jee
for more than one.
Jean kionnaghey shen - Buy that (to one person)
Ny jean jee cheet er ash - Don't come back (to several persons)
Ny tar jee er ash - Don't come back (again to several people).

prowal - trying craitnag - bat (as in vampire, not cricket)
padjer - prayer dubbey - pond
pairk - park giense - party (as in birthday, not political)
meer - piece
